Delete your account

How

Open Secret Call → Settings → Delete account. The app shows what will be removed and asks you to confirm.

What is deleted

• On your phone: your keys, recovery phrase, chats, files, contact names and settings.
• On our servers: the keys others use to start a chat with you and your relay list, so nobody can add you to new chats; the files you uploaded to our file server.
• In your chats: you leave them, and the other phones drop your encrypted notification token. Encrypted chat events you sent earlier are deleted from our relay within 45 days by the normal schedule.

What is not deleted

• Messages already on the other people's phones stay there, as with any messenger.
• Backups you saved to iCloud Drive or a file are yours: delete them there (iCloud Drive: Files → iCloud Drive → Secret Call). If you kept your recovery phrase in iCloud Keychain or in your Google account, turn that off in Settings → Recovery phrase before deleting the account, or delete the account from the app, which removes that copy too.

If you no longer have the phone

Install Secret Call on another phone, restore the account with your 12 words, and delete it there. Without the 12 words nobody — including us — can use the account; its data on our servers expires on its own: chat events after 45 days, files 90 days after they were last fetched.
